Carpet buying

Wendyanne, Our Return Soldier from the Afghan Carpet Stores... the Fruits of Her Labour in Stock Now!

“Crowded, poor, hot, dirty, dangerous, sexist, intimidating, exciting, stimulating” Wendyanne’s brief impression of her recent trip to the frontier town of Peshawar on the Pakistan/Afghan border. As the gateway from Afghanistan, Peshawar is the market town for all sorts of exotic products. It is a place where you can buy just about anything. This is where Wendyanne Robertson went searching for magic carpets.

Long famous for their traditional red rugs, Afghani weavers have responded to a growing market demand for modern designs and contemporary colours. The carpets selected by Wendyanne are a wonderful synthesis, incorporating this new direction and style without compromise to the age old traditions of hand-spinning, hand-weaving and organic dying.

“Our clients get the best of both worlds... The legendary durability and unique character of a genuine oriental carpet that makes a contemporary statement in luxury and warmth, style and comfort.”

Buying personally in the bazaars of Peshawar, Karavan guarantees the best pieces at the best prices, ensuring outstanding value for money.
